Salisbury, NC — August 8, 2023, one person was injured in a fiery single-vehicle truck accident around 9 p.m. on Interstate 85 in Salisbury.
Investigators report the victim’s semi-truck was pulling two pup-trailers when for some reason the truck collided with the highway concrete median and caught fire. A passing police officer pulled the reportedly unconscious truck driver from the semi-truck cab before the flames fully engulfed the vehicle.
Officials say the truck driver later gained consciousness and medical first responders transported him via ambulance to a medical center.
The severity of the driver’s injuries was not released, and investigators have not released what factors led up to the accident.
