Accident Report

Killeen, TX — March 13, 2026, one person was injured in a hit-and-run accident at about 10:50 p.m. in the 600 block of Adams Avenue.

A preliminary accident report indicates that an unknown vehicle was heading west when crashed into a 1998 Ford Expedition that was parked improperly near Henderson Street. The SUV was more than 18 inches from the curb, the report states.

A 50-year-old woman who was in the SUV was seriously injured in the crash, according to the report.

Authorities have not released any additional information about the Bell County crash at this time.

How Did This Accident Occur?

Initial reports on this crash leave plenty of questions. Was there enough room for the other vehicle to drive down Adams Avenue without hitting the parked car? Did the unknown vehicle have an issue with its brakes or steering mechanism that caused this crash, or prevented it from stopping?

The first question can be answered by measurements that police took at the scene, but they others rely on them finding the unknown vehicle.

I expect investigators to track down any available security camera footage in the area that might help them identify the vehicle. Once the vehicle is found, they can download data from its engine control module, which will show its speed, braking and throttle inputs before the crash.

If authorities suspect a mechanical defect in the unknown vehicle contributed to the crash, an independent expert likely will be needed to conduct a forensic examination in a laboratory setting. Most law enforcement agencies don’t have the time or expertise for such exams, in my experience.
