Accident Report

Plano, TX – March 15, 2026, a truck driver was injured in an alleged drunk driver accident at about 2:50 a.m. on Dallas North Tollway.

Authorities said an Audi sedan collided with a semi-truck as it changed lanes to exit at Legacy Drive. The truck overcorrected after the impact and overturned on the service road, spilling its load of bananas.

The truck driver, whose name has not been made public yet, suffered minor injuries in the crash, according to authorities.

The Audi driver was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated, authorities said.

Authorities have not released any additional information about the Collin County crash at this time.

How Did This Accident Occur?

Authorities seem to have settled on how this crash unfolded, with an Audi sedan clipping a semi-truck as it veered across traffic to exit the Dallas North Tollway, but the suspicion that alcohol played a role warrants additional investigation. One question still needs to be answered: where did the alleged drunk driver get his alcohol?

Under Texas law, an alcohol provider may be responsible for any injuries he caused if he was served while obviously intoxicated. I don’t have any insight into whether that is what happened in this instance, it is worth looking into to identify everyone who may have played a role in this crash.
