Accident Report
San Antonio, TX — June 14, 2026, one person was injured in a single-car accident at about 2:15 a.m. on Roosevelt Avenue/State Highway Spur 536.
A preliminary accident report indicates that a 2006 GMC Sierra was heading north when it left the road and rolled into a tree after driving through standing water near Riverside Drive.
The passenger in the pickup, a 40-year-old man, was seriously injured in the crash, according to the report. His name has not been made public yet.
The driver was charged with failure to stop and render aid, the report states.
Authorities have not released any additional information about the Bexar County crash at this time.
How Did This Accident Occur?
Initial reports state this crash happened after a GMC pickup drove through standing water on Roosevelt Avenue. That could indicate the pickup was going too fast for conditions, or maybe the water exacerbated an issue with its tires.
A thorough investigation should present a clear picture of what caused this accident, as authorities pore over physical evidence, witness statements, vehicle data and any available video footage.
An outside expert may be needed to examine the pickup if investigators suspect a mechanical issue contributed to the crash, since most law enforcement agencies don’t have the time or training for such inspections, in my experience.
