Hunt County, TX — January 7, 2025, Officer Gabriel Bixby was killed following a motorcycle versus car accident at approximately 5:30 p.m. along S.H. 276.
According to authorities, 29-year-old Gabriel Bixby—a police officer who had not been on duty at the time—was traveling on a motorcycle on State Highway 276 in the vicinity south of Union Valley when the accident took place.
The cause of the accident remains unclear. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, a Honda Accord occupied by an 85-year-old man failed to yield the right-of-way to oncoming traffic as it attempted a left turn to exit the highway.
