Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
Folks generally think single-vehicle wrecks are straight-forward, but they’re actually some of the more challenging ones I deal with. The main reason for that is because authorities don’t always take them seriously. I get calls all the time from folks whose accidents either didn’t get the attention they deserved or were mishandled, leading to false accusations or hasty conclusions.
Clearing all that up takes time, independent investigations, and consideration into possible factors authorities may have overlooked. It’s possible authorities handling this crash did right by those involved, but in my experience, single-vehicle wrecks are typically better off in the hands of professionals independent of the authorities who can help ensure the evidence—all of the evidence—speaks for itself. Otherwise, there’s no telling what kind of conclusions people may come up with to fill in the gaps.
