Potter County, TX — June 4, 2023, Noah Leyman was killed and Jurnee Scott was injured following an 18-wheeler accident just before 3:00 a.m. on U.S. 287.

Preliminary details released about the fatal wreck say that it occurred at approximately 2:55 a.m. in the area of U.S. Highway 287 just south of Amarillo.

According to Texas Department of Public Safety officials, 22-year-old Noah Leyman and 22-year-old Jurnee Scott were in a Hyundai Sonata that was going northbound along the highway. A tractor-trailer was going southbound, but it may have been going along the wrong side of the road. Doing so, the 18-wheeler crashed head-on with the Hyundai.

As a result of the collision, Leyman sustained fatal injuries. Scott was sent to a hospital in Amarillo for injuries believed to be life-threatening. No other injuries were confirmed.

Right now, exact factors leading up to the crash are still under investigation. No further details can be confirmed at this time.
