UPDATE (January 30, 2024): Recent reports have been released which indicate that, in addition to the deceased, three people were injured as a result of this accident. A 49-year-old man who had been an occupant of the Ford van incurred suspected severe injuries; a 42-year-old man who had been the sole occupant of the Dodge pickup truck sustained reportedly moderate injuries; the sole occupant of the Ford pickup truck incurred minor injuries. All three were taken to local medical facilities in order to receive necessary treatment.
Bridge City, TX — January 13, 2024, Nicki Dewayne Guy was killed in a car accident just after 5:30 a.m. along State Highway 73.
According to authorities, Nicki Dewayne Guy was traveling in a southbound Ford van on S.H. 73 in the vicinity of the Rainbow Bridge when the accident took place.

Preliminary reports indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, a northbound Ford F-150 failed to safely maintain its lane of travel on the highway. It allegedly veered left of center and over the dividing line of the highway, entering the southbound lanes. This resulted in a collision with the oncoming van. The collision caused the van to have a secondary crash with a Dodge pickup truck. Guy incurred reportedly fatal injuries due to the accident; he was declared deceased at the scene. No other injuries have been reported.
