Authorities allege that the Honda driver was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. If that’s true, where did that alcohol come from? Some of the details here suggest the possibility there was a negligent alcohol provider involved here, and they, too, may need to face consequences.

Simply put, it’s illegal in Texas for alcohol providers to over-serve someone who is obviously intoxicated. Doing so can expose an alcohol provider to potential criminal investigations, fines, license suspensions, and liability for the resulting injuries. Well, for someone to get on the wrong side of the road, they usually have to be extremely intoxicated. That means if this driver happened to be coming from a local bar, it’s almost guaranteed they illegally over-served the driver. Is that something authorities have looked into yet, or is there still more to this story yet to be addressed?
