How Did This Accident Occur?

When it comes to accidents where a car crashes into parked vehicles, many people are quick to point the finger at the driver. However, I’ve been in this line of business for over thirty years. In that time, I’ve seen plenty of accidents in which evidence of less likely causes ended up being unearthed by the investigation. That is why, as a general rule, I am slow to make assumptions.

That’s not to insinuate that I know more about this accident than anyone else, by the way. As far as I know, driver error is still on the table as a possible cause. But I would like to point out that something could have gone wrong with the Sonata to cause the wreck, rather than driver error. Vehicles are complex machines, after all. Has anyone considered an issue with the steering mechanism? Maybe it had a tire blowout. Perhaps the brakes failed or the throttle got stuck in the open position? Honestly, it could have been any number of things.

Hopefully investigators—whether the authorities or a third party—get an in-depth vehicle inspection done on the Sonata. That way any mechanical malfunctions of product defects that played a role will not be allowed to fly under the radar. After all the people affected by this accident deserve real answers backed by solid evidence. That level of clarity just doesn’t come with the vague assumptions resulting from surface-level investigation.
