Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman

In the overnight hours between Saturday and Sunday, it wouldn’t at all be unusual if authorities were looking into alcohol as a possible factor here. I’ve handled hundreds of cases against negligent alcohol providers who over-served someone that then got themselves or someone else hurt. A large portion of those cases involved crashes around this time of night. But as common as that possibility is, it’s still just one possibility. Authorities also need to cover things from mechanical defects to tire blowouts to distracted driving to medical emergencies. Likely or not, there are families in need of answers. It’s important to ensure there is as much evidence as possible getting them those answers.
