Cumberland County, PA — July 17, 2023, at least one person was injured due to a semi-truck accident at around 4:00 p.m. along Interstate 81.
According to preliminary information from authorities, the incident took place in the area of Route 465 and Exit 45.
Authorities say that traffic had stopped along the interstate as a tractor-trailer was approaching. That tractor-trailer somehow did not avoid the stopped vehicles, and it crashed into at least two other 18-wheelers. The first truck then caught fire.
As a result of the collision, at least one person was reported as injured. That person had to be flown from the scene due to their injuries. It’s unclear if anyone else was hurt in the accident. Authorities released no other details.
