San Antonio, TX — December 28, 2024, one person was injured in a motorcycle accident at about 10:30 p.m. on Dalewood Place near Country Lane.
A preliminary accident report indicates a 2012 Kawasaki Ninja ZX collided with a 2013 Ford F-150 near the intersection.
The motorcyclist, a 38-year-old man from South Carolina, was seriously injured in the crash, according to the report. His name has not been made public at this time.
The driver of the pickup and her two passengers were not injured, the report states.

First, did the authorities thoroughly investigate the crash? In any motorcycle-versus-vehicle collision, identifying the point of impact, direction of travel and visibility conditions is crucial. What were the lighting conditions in the area? Was either vehicle turning or entering the intersection at the time? Did the motorcyclist have the right-of-way, and was speed a factor for either party? A comprehensive reconstruction should include measurements of skid marks, road debris, impact angles and witness statements, if available, to establish the sequence of events.
Second, has anyone considered whether a vehicle defect may have contributed to the crash? The 2012 Kawasaki Ninja ZX and the 2013 Ford F-150 should both be examined for potential mechanical or safety system failures.
