Brazoria County, TX — September 22, 2024, two people were killed and five were injured following a mobile home collapse accident off County Road 49.
Investigators said that the incident took place in the Angleton area near the intersection of County Road 49 and Highway 288.
It appears multiple people were working to “level” the mobile home at the time when a collapse occurred, pinning several people. As a result, a teenager and an adult were killed. Three other teenagers and two adults were injured and taken to various hospitals. Some of the injuries were reportedly serious. Right now, additional details about the accident can’t be confirmed.

There has been some indication that issues with equipment may have led to this accident. Frankly, I have to wonder how authorities are handling the investigations. They’re not generally equipped to look into such unusual circumstances, especially if the cause of the accident was something like a defective piece of equipment. It could be that getting answers here will only happen after much more thorough independent investigations.
