Houston, TX — December 3, 2024, Misty King sustained fatal injuries as the result of a hit-and-run accident at around 9:15 p.m. on Mallow Street.
According to initial details about the accident, it happened at the intersection of Mallow Street and Scott Street.
Authorities said that 44-year-old Misty King was on foot at the time and attempting to cross the intersection, reportedly in a crosswalk. While doing so, though, a southbound white Ford pickup struck Misty King. The Ford then fled the scene of the accident.
Due to the collision, Misty King sustained fatal injuries. Authorities did not give other details about the accident.

Whether it’s been weeks or months, continuing to put out details to the public following a hit-and-run is one of the best steps investigators can take. Hit-and-runs often reach a conclusion when someone in the public is able to connect dots authorities couldn’t, helping to identify a suspect. Once that happens, there can be steps to hold the runaway suspect accountable and to find out if there was something that led them to flee which also warrants consequences. I maintain hope that continued efforts will help lead to a resolution here.
