Cameron County, TX — October 13, 2024, Miguel Tellez Jr. was killed following a single-car accident shortly after 11:45 p.m. along Farm to Market 803.
According to authorities, 32-year-old Miguel Tellez Jr. was traveling in a southbound Dodge Nitro SUV on F.M. 803 in the vicinity north of El Preseno Road when the accident took place.
The cause of the accident remains unclear. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, the Dodge failed to safely maintain its lane of travel. It reportedly veered left, going into a side skid and crossing over the center line and the northbound lane before exiting the roadway altogether. It then struck a culvert and overturned, rolling an unknown number of times before coming to a stop resting on its right side. The vehicle reportedly caught on fire over the course of the accident. Reports state that Tellez suffered fatal injuries due to the wreck and was declared deceased at the scene. Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
