An investigation is underway into a car accident that left one person injured during the early moning hours of September 22nd. According to official reports, Miguel Belmares was travelling in a Nissan Versa on Hamilton St. in the southbound lanes, at the St. Joseph Fwy. intersection, when a Nissan Rogue coming from the east on St. Joseph failed to yield the right-of-way T-boned Belmares.
As a result of the impact, both vehicles sustained significant damage. When first responders arrived on the scene, they found that Belmares had sustained serious injuries and transported him to the hospital.
