Schuylkill County, PA — June 11, 2026, Michael Schaffer was killed in a truck accident at about 11:10 p.m. on State Route 61 north of Schuylkill Haven.
Authorities said a 2024 International semi-truck was heading north when it hit an electric bicycle near the right shoulder. The e-bike did not have any lights.
The bicyclist, 45-year-old Schuylkill Haven resident Michael Schaffer, died at an area hospital after the crash north of Seven Stars Road, according to authorities. His name has not been made public yet.
