Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
With someone clearly being put at fault here, people may not cast more than a glance at these initial details. However, something stands out to me. Did authorities look into why only one person was seriously injured here?
While not always the case, this is sometimes a red flag that something like a faulty seatbelt or airbag contributed to the accident. After all, multiple other people were involved in the crash, and they were apparently okay. If something helped prevent their injuries but failed to do so for the seriously injured victim, it’s important investigators look into that—especially if there could be a problem that’s putting others at risk.
