Orange, TX — July 14, 2023, Michael James Stelly Jr. and another driver were injured as the result of a semi-truck accident at 5:14 a.m. along I-10.
Investigators said that the incident took place along the eastbound lanes of the interstate near Woodlark Street.
It appears from initial statements that 33-year-old Michael James Stelly Jr. and an unidentified 38-year-old were in a Honda Civic that was going eastbound on I-10. While doing so, it appears the vehicle somehow collided with an 18-wheeler that was in the left lane of travel. This caused the Honda to careen off-road, across the service road, and into a tree.
As a result of the crash, Stelly and the passenger in the Honda had injuries described as incapacitating. It appears no one else was hurt. Right now, the exact cause of the crash has yet to be confirmed. There are no additional details about the crash at this time.
