Harris County, TX — August 14, 2024, Michael Dacruz was killed following a motorcycle accident at around 7:55 p.m. on Champions Forest Drive.
According to initial details about the accident, it happened in the area of Champions Forest Drive and Coral Gables Drive, just off F.M. 1960.
Harris County officials said that 25-year-old Michael Dacruz was on a motorcycle that was going southbound on Champions Forest Drive. From the northbound lane, it appears a Lexus failed to yield and entered the path of Dacruz’s motorcycle, resulting in a collision. Dacruz was killed as a result. No one else was injured.

Right now, it’s unclear if any charges are being considered. Maybe more steps have been taken behind the scenes, but I always have concerns when it comes to motorcycle accidents. The reality is a lot of people are biased against motorcyclists, and that can lead them to jump to false conclusions.
I’ve had many cases where motorcyclists were accused of various reckless acts only for thorough independent investigations to prove those claims completely wrong. Unfortunately, getting that evidence is often necessary for families who ant to ensure their loved one’s story is told properly. Again, maybe authorities here have been more thorough, but that’s not something I would take for granted.
