Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman

People sometimes jump to conclusions when reading about a stalled vehicle accident. Some assume the vehicle blocking the roadway is automatically at fault. Others believe a driver failing to avoid that vehicle is the one to blame. The truth is there is no magic equation for who’s to blame for a crash like this. The evidence matters, and it’s important to understand all of the factors leading to the collision.

That’s why I’ve always emphasized the importance of gather evidence following any serious accident. Generally speaking, whoever has the most evidence telling their side of the story is more likely to get a resolution that’s best for them. The earlier those steps are taken, the better.
