Steuben County, IN — October 11, 2024, Melvin Alexander was killed following an 18-wheeler accident at around 5:15 P.M. on the Indiana Toll Road.
An investigation is underway into an 18-wheeler accident that took the life of Melvin Alexander, 34, of Atlanta, Georgia and injured his passenger. According to official reports, the 18-wheeler driven by Alexander was traveling on the Indiana Toll Road near the I-69 Interchange when for unknown reason, the tractor-trailer failed to slow down for traffic.
As a result, the 18-wheeler collided with two other vehicles causing severe damage to Alexander’s vehicle. When first responders arrived on the scene they had to extricate Alexander and his passenger, where they discovered him with no signs of life, and transported his passenger to a nearby hospital for treatment.
At this time no other information has been made available and this accident remains under investigation.
