Hill County, TX — March 28, 2024, Melissa Comer Olivas was injured following a truck accident at approximately 8:00 p.m. along Live Oak.
According to authorities, 53-year-old Melissa Comer Olivas was traveling in a northwest bound Dodge Grand Caravan on Live Oak in the vicinity southeast of the Cedar Street intersection when the accident took place.

An 18-wheeler which had also been traveling northwest in the lane ahead of the minivan reportedly slowed in preparation of making a left turn. Officials indicate that there were some tail lights on the truck’s trailer which were not functional, and the brake lights were out, as well. A collision followed between the front-end of the Grand Caravan and the rear-end of the trailer.
Authorities believe that the injuries Olivas sustained due to the wreck were severe. She was taken to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment. Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
