UPDATE (September 6, 2023): Further information from authorities identified a passenger in Mayra Noemi Guevara’s vehicle as 45-year-old Dora Guevara. It appears Dora Guevara had incapacitating injuries resulting from the crash. A 5-year-old in the same vehicle also appeared to have non-incapacitating injuries. Their conditions right now aren’t clear. Investigations continue.
Seguin, TX — August 12, 2023, Mayra Noemi Guevara was killed as the result of an alleged intoxicated driving accident at 9:35 p.m. along F.M. 466.
Authorities with the Texas Department of Public Safety said that the incident happened just outside of Seguin where Schneider Road, F.M. 466, F.M. 477, and Capote Road intersect.
According to officials, 21-year-old Mayra Noemi Guevara was in a Chevy Equinox going eastbound along F.M. 477. At the intersection, police say that a Chevy Silverado ran the stop sign and crashed into Guevara’s Equinox.
As a result of the crash, Guevara sustained fatal injuries. Two others in the Equinox were injured. The driver of the Silverado was allegedly intoxicated at the time of the crash. He appears to be facing charges for intoxication manslaughter and intoxication assault. The incident is still under investigation.
