Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman

Motorcycle accidents can be uniquely concerning given the fact people have a negative bias against riders. They’re more likely to believe a rider was being reckless even when the facts aren’t clear. I’ve actually had cases where authorities themselves blamed a motorcyclist for a crash only for more thorough independent investigations to reveal the victim did not thing wrong. Maybe that isn’t what happened here, but it wouldn’t be unusual if authorities treated this accident as a low priority and let something important slip through the cracks.
