Travis County, TX — April 12, 2024, Mary Rice was injured following a car accident at approximately 9:00 a.m. along Escarpment Boulevard.
According to authorities, 73-year-old Mary Rice was traveling in a northbound Pontiac Vibe on Escarpment Boulevard approaching the Abilene Trail intersection when the accident took place.
Officials indicate that a GMC Sierra pickup truck that had been on Escarpment attempted to turn onto eastbound Abilene Trail at an apparently unsafe time, failing to yield the right of way to northbound traffic. This resulted in a T-bone accident between the right side of the pickup truck and the front-end of the Pontiac.
Rice suffered reportedly severe injuries as a result of the wreck. She was transported to a local medical facility by emergency medical services in order to receive necessary treatment. No other injuries have been reported.
