Waller County, TX — March 12, 2024, Martir Augusto and Henry Rodriguez were killed and Vallecious Martinez another person were injured in a car accident at around 9:00 a.m. on S.H. 6.
According to authorities, 36-year-old Vallecious Martinez, 25-year-old Martir Augusto, and 31-year-old Henry Rodriguez were traveling in a northbound Chevy van along State Highway 6 at the Farm to Market 2979 intersection when the accident took place.
Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, a westbound Toyota Sienna occupied by a 38-year-old woman on F.M. 2979 failed to yield the right of way at a stop sign, entering the intersection at an apparently unsafe time. This resulted in a T-bone collision between the front-end of the Sienna and the right side of the Chevy. The crash caused the Chevy van to overturn, rolling an unknown number of times before coming to a stop resting on its right side.
Rodrigues and Augusto were reportedly ejected over the course of the accident. They both died as a result of the wreck. Reports also state that Martinez was seriously hurt and the woman from the Sienna suffered moderate injuries, as well. They were taken to local medical facilities by EMS in order to receive treatment.
Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
