Round Rock, TX — April 29, 2023, Marisela Ochoa was killed and James Kair was injured following a car accident at 11:46 p.m. along I-35.
Preliminary details about the fatal crash say that it happened in the area of the intersection with I-35 and Rubio Avenue.
Initial statements indicate that 48-year-old Marisela Ochoa was in a Toyota Corolla that was going northbound along the interstate. 19-year-old James Kair was said to be in a Toyota Camry that was also going northbound. At the exit ramp for Round Rock Avenue, authorities say that the Corolla somehow crashed into the impact barrels separating the main lanes and the ramp. This sent the Corolla back into lanes of travel where a GMC Acadia hit it, followed by Kair’s Camry.
Due to the collisions, reports say Ochoa sustained fatal injuries. Kair was said to have sustained non-incapacitating injuries. No other injuries were reported. At this time, the exact factors leading to the crash cannot be confirmed.
