Dallas, TX — February 13, 2024, Maria Hernandez was injured in a car accident shortly before 1:00 p.m. along Beckley Avenue.
According to authorities, a vehicle of unknown make or model was traveling northbound on Beckley Avenue at the Jefferson Boulevard intersection when the accident occurred.
Officials indicate that, for unknown reasons, the vehicle attempted a left turn onto westbound Jefferson at an unsafe time, failing to yield the right of way to southbound traffic on Beckley. This resulted in a collision between the unknown vehicle and a southbound Chevy Silverado pickup truck occupied by 73-year-old Maria Hernandez which had been attempting a right turn onto Jefferson, as well. After the collision, the unknown vehicle reportedly reversed from the wreckage and fled the scene, failing to stop and render aid of any sort to the other vehicle.
Hernandez incurred suspected severe injuries as a result of the accident. She was transported to a local medical facility by emergency medical services in order to receive necessary treatment. No other injuries have been reported.
