Dallas, TX — April 13, 2024, Maria Rosalinda Hernandez was killed due to a single-vehicle car accident at around 4:11 p.m. along the LBJ Freeway.
Initial details released about the crash say that it happened on eastbound lanes of Loop 635 in the area of Marsh Lane.

According to officials, 27-year-old Maria Hernandez was in a Jeep Cherokee that was going along the interstate. For reasons which are not confirmed right now, the vehicle apparently went to the right, then veered left and crashed into the median barrier. As a result, Hernandez sustained fatal injuries. It doesn’t appear anyone else was involved in the accident.
Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
After single-vehicle wrecks, I take every opportunity I can to remind people that there can always be unusual, unavoidable factors that lead to crashes like this. While people tend to just assume the driver did something wrong (which of course is possible), overlooking other possibilities, however unlikely, just risks letting something important slip through the cracks.
Here’s the thing, though: I’m usually saying that about crashes that happen late at night or early in the morning when it’s more common for drivers to be fatigued or intoxicated after being illegally over-served by a bar. This crash apparently happened in the middle of the afternoon. That’s a rather unusual time for someone to suddenly lose control of their vehicle, and that raises the possibility something more unexpected may have caused this crash. Did a tire blow out? Was there some sort of emergency? Was there an object in the road? Did the vehicle have a mechanical issue due to a defect? I can’t help but wonder if there’s more to this situation authorities aren’t talking about.
