Horizon City, TX — March 20, 2024, Maria De La Rosa and four others were injured in a car accident just after 4:00 p.m. along Horizon Boulevard.
According to authorities, a 36-year-old woman and an eight-year-old girl were traveling in a northbound Lincoln Navigator SUV on Horizon Crossing Street at a stop sign for the intersection of Horizon Boulevard when the accident took place.

Officials indicate that, for unknown reasons, the SUV failed to yield the right of way to crosstraffic, entering the intersection at an apparently unsafe time. This resulted in a T-bone collision between the left side of the Navigator and the front-end of an eastbound Ford Escape occupied by 52-year-old Maria De La Rosa, an 11-year-old girl, and two 12-year-old boys.
De La Rosa incurred suspected severe injuries due to the wreck. All three minors in the Ford sustained moderate injuries, and the child from the Navigator suffered only minor injuries. All four occupants of the Ford were transported to local medical facilities by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment. No other injuries have been reported.
Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
