If it’s true alcohol was involved here, additional charges could be pending further complex investigations. That would be especially true if authorities were also looking into the possibility a negligent alcohol provider was also involved in this accident by over-serving the driver. It’s always concerning to see a lack of new information about such a serious accident, and sometimes independent investigators have to pick up the slack. Hopefully, though, the severity of this incident has authorities working around the clock to ensure there’s a proper resolution here.
UPDATE (May 28, 2024): The pedestrian who was hit during this accident has been identified as 49-year-old Margaret Cardenas Ureste. Recent reports have been released which state that she was ultimately unable to overcome the severity of her injuries, having been declared deceased on May 1, 2024. The investigation is ongoing.
San Antonio, TX — April 29, 2024, a woman was injured following a car accident at approximately 11:00 p.m. along Southeast Loop 410.
According to authorities, a woman was in the middle of exiting her car in a parking lot near Southeast Loop 410 and Rigsby Avenue when the accident occurred.

The cause of the accident remains unclear. Officials indicate that, for reasons yet to be confirmed, a Nissan Altima occupied by a 21-year-old woman lost control and collided with the female pedestrian. The victim reportedly sustained critical injuries as a result. She was rushed to a local medical facility by emergency medical services in order to receive immediate treatment.
Additional details pertaining to this incident—including the identity of the victim—are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
