Houston, TX — June 2, 2024, Marcos Cucul Chub was killed following an accident with a taco truck at approximately 9:00 p.m. along Lawndale Street.
According to authorities, Marcos Cucul Chub was walking in a crosswalk on Lawndale Street in the vicinity of the Wayside Drive intersection when the accident occurred.
Officials indicate that Cucul Chub was struck by a taco truck while they were still in the crosswalk. Cucul Chub suffered reportedly fatal injuries as a result of the accident. The truck reportedly left the scene initially, but then later returned to the scene. While allegations of failure to stop and render aid were made, it’s unclear if charges were filed. No further information is clear.

There’s a lot that has yet to be addressed here. Did the truck driver know they hit someone? Did someone else flag them down? Did they make any calls to their employer before speaking to authorities? How much time passed between the accident and the truck driver returning to the scene? It’s entirely possible this all was just an unfortunate accident, but there are just too many red flags here that need to be addressed sooner rather than later.
