Austin, TX — July 12, 2024, Marco Del Angel Rodriguez was injured following a hit-and-run accident at around midnight along Decker Lane.
Authorities said in preliminary statements that the accident happened in the area of the Decker Lane and Loyola Lane intersection.

According to officials, 26-year-old Marco Del Angel Rodriguez was on a Kawasaki motorcycle that was going southbound along Decker along with another motorcyclist. Del Angel Rodriguez was seriously injured as a result.
Authorities say that the pickup turned into a gas station, then exited and left the scene going eastbound. That vehicle has been described as a red Ford F-150. No further information is available at this time.

I wonder if authorities checked the gas station for any potential security footage. As obvious a step as that seems, I had a case not long ago where authorities completely dropped the ball. They said they couldn’t determine what caused a crash, but we were able to find a nearby business that caught the whole thing on camera. Simply put, mistakes happen, but with something as serious as a hit-and-run, steps should be taken to make sure nothing slips through the cracks. That way, there can be appropriate consequences for what happened to the victim.
