Travis County, TX — March 8, 2024, Macario Vences and one other person were injured in a car accident shortly before 11:45 p.m. along S.H. 71.
According to authorities, 30-year-old Macario Vences was traveling in an eastbound Honda Accord on State Highway 71 in the vicinity southeast of Hart Hollow Drive when the accident took place.
Officials indicate that, for reasons yet to be confirmed, a westbound Toyota 4Runner occupied by a 24-year-old man failed to safely maintain its lane of travel. It reportedly veered left, crossing over the center turn lane and entering the eastbound lanes of the highway. This resulted in a head-on collision between the two vehicles.
Both Vences and the man from the Toyota suffered severe injuries as a result of the wreck. They were each transported to local medical facilities by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment. Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
