Ector County, TX — May 26, 2023, Luis Lujan-Gameros was killed as the result of an alleged drunk driver accident late Friday along Loop 338.
Authorities said that the incident happened in the area of State Loop 338 mile marker 252.
Initial statements from Texas Department of Public Safety officials indicate that 51-year-old Luis Carlos Lujan-Gameros was a passenger in a vehicle that was going southbound on the highway. As it did so, the vehicle lost control, ran off the side of the road, and crashed.
The accident ultimately resulted in Lujan-Gameros succumbing to fatal injuries. The driver of the vehicle was taken to a hospital. Right now, authorities allege that the driver had been under the influence of alcohol at the time. Details appear to show there is a pending charge against that driver for intoxication manslaughter. Further information surrounding the crash or potential charges is pending investigations.
