Anna, TX — September 3, 2024, Lori Norman and one other were injured following a car accident at 3:34 p.m. on Powell Parkway.
Initial details about the accident say that it took place at the intersection of South Powell Parkway and East Finley Boulevard.

Authorities said that 64-year-old Lori Norman was in a Toyota 4Runner going northbound on Powell. Norman was in a line of vehicles when a Lexus rear-ended Norman, causing a chain-reaction with the other vehicles. As a result, both Lori Norman and the Lexus driver had serious injuries. There were no other injuries reported.
Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
While not confirmed, authorities alleged that the Lexus driver may have been under the influence of alcohol. If that turns out to be true, that could create quite the complex situation. People tend to think things are straight-forward when it seems clear someone is at fault. But alcohol in particular can involve accomplices not apparent at the crash scene: alcohol providers.
Simply put, alcohol providers who unlawfully serve someone that is obviously intoxicated expose themselves to potential criminal investigations, fines, suspended license, and liability for resulting injuries. This area of the law applies to countless accidents—I’ve handled hundreds of cases against negligent alcohol providers—yet it’s not something that gets much attention. Authorities tend to just move on once a driver faces charges. If victims and families don’t happen to consider alternative avenues for holding those alcohol providers accountable, they may simply be let off the hook.
That’s why I have to wonder what steps are being taken here to ensure there is accountability for any wrongdoing that led to this accident.
