Youngstown, OH — June 21, 2023, a man was injured as the result of a loose truck trailer accident Wednesday along North Belle Vista Avenue.
Authorities said that the incident took place at Borts Field, which is along N. Belle Vista between Wellington Avenue and Oakwood Avenue.
It appears from initial reports that a man in his 20s was working for Youngstown City Parks and Rec at Borts Field. While doing so, in a series of events not entirely clear, a truck that was pulling a flatbed trailer along Belle Vista somehow lost its trailer. The trailer careened into the city worker, pinning him against a work truck.
Due to the accident, the man was taken to a hospital with what were described as “substantial injuries.” There were no other injuries confirmed in reports. It’s also unclear at this time if any charges or citations are pending. No further information is available at this time.
