Springfield, MA — March 16, 2023, a Longmeadow woman was injured in an accident where a truck apparently hit her car, then left the scene.
Investigators said that the incident happened along northbound lanes of I-91 in the area of the Memorial Bridge.
According to officials, a 61-year-old woman from Longmeadow was in a Honda sedan traveling northbound. A tractor-trailer somehow hit the car, forcing it into the median. After this, the tractor-trailer apparently left the scene.
The Longmeadow woman had a serious arm injury, according to reports.

Police say they’re looking for a a tractor-trailer with a possibly white or silver trailer and likely damage to its passenger side, including a potentially damaged fuel tank.
With that kind of description, it has to be just a matter of time before someone can identify the truck involved here. A ruptured fuel tank is especially identifiable if the truck driver returned to an employer or took the truck to a repair shop. Oftentimes, these situations are resolved thanks to vigilant members of the community. I remain hopeful the same will happen here so long as these details stay in the public eye.
