Derry Township, PA — November 18, 2024, two people were injured in a log truck accident at approximately 3:00 p.m. along State Highway 217.
According to authorities, the accident took place in the vicinity of the S.H. 217 and Kingston Club Road intersection.
The cause of the accident remains unclear. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, an 18-wheeler hauling a load of logs failed to safely negotiate a curve in the roadway; it reportedly overturned onto one side as a result. After overturning, it apparently continued to skid, colliding with a pickup truck as it did so.
Two people—one from each vehicle—suffered injuries of unknown severity; they were each transported to local medical facilities by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment.
