Accident Report

Fresno, CA — June 10, 2026, Lloyd Sisemore was killed in a truck accident at about 3:30 p.m. on the off-ramp from Golden State Highway/State Highway 99.

Authorities said a semi-truck had been stopped at the intersection with Fresno Street before it hit a pedestrian crossing the road in the crosswalk when the light turned green. The driver was not able to see the pedestrian because he had been walking in front of another semi-truck.

The pedestrian, 69-year-old Fresno resident Lloyd Sisemore, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, according to authorities.

The truck driver is cooperating with investigators, authorities said.

Authorities have not released any additional information about the Fresno County crash at this time.

How Did This Accident Occur?

It’s hard to imagine how a professional driver could hit a pedestrian in a crosswalk after being stopped at an intersection, as described here. Was the driver distracted, or in a hurry? Was the truck equipped with some sort of crash avoidance system that malfunctioned? These are the type of questions that authorities must consider as they investigate this accident.

Investigators likely will scrutinize physical evidence, witness statements, data from the truck and any available video footage, but they also should look at the trucking company. Did its hiring practices or training programs contribute to this crash? That could be the case if the company hired a driver with a history of crashes or if it failed to train its drivers to check for potential hazards before passing through an intersection.

If authorities suspect a mechanical issue played a role in this crash, an outside expert likely will be needed to conduct a forensic examination on the truck, since most law enforcement agencies don’t have the time or training for such inspections, in my experience.

The pedestrian’s family deserves to have a clear picture of what happened at this intersection.
