Alvarado, TX — January 25, 2023, Leticia Gutierrez was injured as the result of a car accident at around 2:35 p.m. along U.S. Highway 67.
According to initial details released by authorities, the crash took place at the intersection of Village Park Drive and U.S. 67.
Officials said in their statements that 46-year-old Leticia Gutierrez was in a Lexus traveling on eastbound lanes of the highway. Gutierrez stopped at a stop light, according to authorities, but a vehicle approaching from behind apparently did not stop. As a result, that vehicle crashed into the back of Gutierrez’s vehicle.
Gutierrez was said to have incapacitating injuries as a result of the collision. It appears the other driver was not injured. Police said they believe the cause of the crash involved a distraction in the rear driver’s vehicle. This and other details remain unconfirmed at this time.
