At this time, officials say they’ve identified a 22-year-old man allegedly responsible for the accident. That person is said to be facing a charge for accident involving death. Laredo, TX — April 21, 2023, a man was fatally injured following a hit-and-run accident at around 6:00 a.m. along Lafayette Street.
Preliminary details about the fatal collision say that it happened at the intersection of Lafayette Street and San Dario Avenue.
From initial statements in media outlets, it appears that a 76-year-old man was on foot at the time. While that man apparently attempted to cross the roadway, a vehicle struck that man. The vehicle, for which there currently is no description, allegedly left the scene.
The man hit by the vehicle was said to have died from his injuries at the scene of the accident. No one else was reportedly injured. Authorities continue to search for the driver said to be involved in the accident. They are asking for witnesses or anyone with surveillance footage to come forward and assist with their search.
