San Marcos, TX — June 14, 2023, Lenord Green Coleman Jr. was killed following a hit-and-run accident at around 1:00 a.m. along Highway 123.
Authorities with the San Marcos Police Department said that the incident took place in the area of the Highway 123 and Ebony Street intersection.
It appears that 69-year-old Lenord Green Coleman Jr. was on foot at the time, though details were not specific on where exactly he was in relation to traffic lanes. Somehow, police believe that a delivery truck hit Coleman, then left the scene. Right now, authorities claim they have identified that driver, but there is no indication of arrests or charges at this time. Police also believe a second driver, who may be local to the area of the collision, hit Coleman, then left the scene, as well.
As a result of the collision, Coleman sustained fatal injuries. No one else was hurt, according to officials. Right now, no further information can be confirmed as investigations are ongoing.
