Arlington, TX — July 24, 2023, Lee Arthur Young was killed as the result of a pedestrian accident early Monday morning along Interstate 20.
Details from Arlington Police and Tarrant County officials indicate that the incident took place in the area of the I-20 and South Cooper Street intersection.
Initial statements indicate that the death of 41-year-old Lee Arthur Young may be related to a call Arlington Police received at approximately 12:41 a.m. In that incident, officers say a driver reported hitting something along westbound lanes of I-20, however the driver claimed not to know what they hit. Officers say they searched the area but did not find anything of note.
Later on, at approximately 7:28 a.m., authorities were called by someone in the same area who found someone unresponsive along the grassy median. Details say that authorities ultimately identified that person as Young, who they say was struck and killed by a vehicle.
Beyond this, there is no clear information on what happened in the accident. It’s also unclear if there are any pending charges or citations as investigations continue.
