Hunt County, TX — May 29, 2023, Laverne Woods sustained fatal injuries as the result of a single-vehicle accident at around 6:44 p.m. along F.M. 2101.
According to currently available information from authorities, the incident took place in the area of the F.M. 2101 and County Road 3522 intersection.
Investigators said that 53-year-old Laverne Woods was the driver of a Chevy Malibu was going westbound along F.M. 2101. At a curve in the road, the vehicle somehow went off the left side of the road, police say. The vehicle then went over a driveway and slammed into a tree before coming to a stop along the roadway.
As a result of the accident, Woods sustained reportedly incapacitating injuries. However, details indicate Woods succumbed to her injuries on June 7. There did not appear to be anyone else involved in the accident. Investigations are ongoing.
