Hale County, TX — July 2, 2025, Laura Stelle was injured as the result of a car accident that happened at 9:56 a.m. along Galveston Street.
Authorities said in initial statements that the crash happened at the intersection of Galveston and West 18th.
It appears that 56-year-old Laura Stelle was in a Ford F-150 traveling northbound along Galveston. In a series of events unclear, the vehicle crashed with a Ford Fusion that appeared to be unoccupied. As a result of the collision, Laura Stelle was seriously injured.
There did not appear to be anyone else hurt in accident. No further information is available.

There’s obviously a lot of information not available in these initial reports, and that leaves a lot of questions. One that stands out to me is how the driver sustained serious injuries. Usually, a person hitting a much smaller vehicle isn’t going to come out too badly. It makes me wonder if anything unique happened here that would explain the serious outcome.
