San Antonio, TX — December 13, 2023, one person was killed and another was injured in a car accident shortly before 10 p.m. along Loop 410.
According to authorities, a 21-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman were traveling in an eastbound Nissan Altima on NE Loop 410 in the vicinity of Jones Maltsberger Road when the accident took place.
Officials indicate that, for reasons yet to be confirmed, the Altima lost control as it exited the highway toward the access road, colliding with a barrier and a separate vehicle before barreling through a gated parking lot where it finally came to a stop, narrowly missing a collision with a building.
The driver of the vehicle was reportedly entrapped in the wreckage and had to be extricated by emergency workers. Despite the life-saving measures taken, that victim succumbed to the injuries incurred during the accident; they were declared deceased at the scene. The passenger reportedly sustained moderate injuries and was transported to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive treatment. No other injuries were reported in connection with this incident.
