Dallas, TX — September 28, 2024, Latonya Givens was killed and a man was injured in a motorcycle versus truck accident at 12:15 p.m. on Lancaster Road.
According to authorities, 41-year-old Latonya Givens was a passenger on a Yamaha motorcycle which was heading southbound on Lancaster Road at the Cedardale Road intersection when the accident took place.
Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, a southbound 18-wheeler which had been in the far-left lane of Lancaster Road—a lane designated for left-turns, only—attempted a right turn to head west on Cedardale at an apparently unsafe time. This resulted in a collision between the motorcycle and the back-right side of the 18-wheeler’s trailer.
Givens suffered reportedly fatal injuries as a result of the wreck and was declared deceased at the scene. The 40-year-old man who had also been on the motorcycle suffered moderate injuries, as well; he was transported to a local medical facility in order to receive necessary treatment.
